‘The Suppressed Emotions Clinic’ looks into the translation of suppressed emotions into visual data in the form of reflective objects. With a focus on bringing the abstract concept into more materialistic means, it aims to offer users the opportunity to let go of such suppressed emotions through a more visual, and more feasible lens.
Set up as a service, users are directed to record their emotions for aparticular incident of where emotions were suppressed. This is done via using a curated form of which uses a digital algorithm to calculate the incident into percentages and page count; visual concrete data of which is then used to create a prescribed reflection publication which is sent to the user. Its minimal interface which can be accessed in the comfort of one’s home intends to promote a safe environment for the targeted users (people who hold suppressed emotions) to encourage expressing themselves. Delivered to the supressor’s home, the outcome contents is sectioned into the emotions expressed. Each section’s fore edge, head and tail is painted based on colours of which are each associated with a basic human emotion:
Yellow = Happiness
Blue = Sadness
Red = Anger
Purple = Fear
