1 CONCEPT AND VISION
The project began with a desire to honour the experience of visiting Saint Nine; a space shaped by its people, for the people. Known for creative interiors layered with stickers left behind by customers and collaborators, the café has built a visual archive of community overtime and continues to through coffee and creativity. To celebrate its 5th year aniversary since opening, a mural and merchandise was developed and created. The mural was conceived as a tribute to the shared history between customers, locals and the team.

To celebrate its 5th year aniversary since opening, a mural and merchandise was developed and created. The mural was conceived as a tribute to the shared history between customers, locals and the team.
To extend the project beyond the walls, the designs were translated into physical merchandise allowing the artwork to live on through the community that inspired it.
2 TRANSLATING THE CAFÉS LIFE- ARTISTIC INSPIRATIONS
Drawing directly from the café’s sticker-covered surfaces, the design language mimics this collage-like aesthetic. Being a customer since the start of the cafés sticker journey, with my own logo sticker appearing in the space, it has grown into a testament of community with stickers from customers and supplers to the café alike. Each illustrated element references sayings, symbols, and motifs that are unique to Saint Nine and its community. Rather than replicating existing stickers, the mural distills their spirit—playful, expressive, and personal—into a cohesive visual narrative that feels both familiar and new.

3 EXECUTION AND OUTCOME
The mural spans two front-facing windows, each measuring 2m x 2m, and was fully directed, designed, and hand-painted over the course of two days, completed solo from setup to final detailing. Now a permanent feature of the café, the work serves as both a visual landmark and a celebration of Saint Nine’s five-year journey.
